For Samsung, the stakes are high with the upcoming March announcement of the Galaxy S8.

The leaked picture shows a redesigned Galaxy phone with habitual wrap-around screen of the Galaxy S7 edge but without physical buttons. The company is now working with banks and partners to embrace this new technology, which will likely take some months to complete. A Samsung representative didn’t even want to respond to a request for comment regarding the upcoming phone. Previous Galaxy phones offered users only to unlock their phones with facial recognition. But considering all the rumors we’ve seen so far, facial recognition is one thing we expect to see on the iPhone 8 flagship this year.

The new phones are also expected to have the iris-scanning capabilities that debuted for Samsung on the infamous Note 7, BGR reported. “But the smartphone unlocks faster and with more accuracy when it comes to recognising faces”.

Apart from the possible inclusion of facial recognition for Samsung Pay, there are several other rumored Samsung Galaxy S8 features that could help set the device apart from the competition. Though the phone was planned to be unveiled in two weeks, a purple version of the Galaxy S8 has leaked, but it doesn’t tell much.

The Samsung Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus are going to be launched on March 29.

In addition, a new 8MP camera will be included on the front of the S8 which will feature autofocusing, a feature that’ll probably wind up pretty useful for selfie takers and social media bloggers.

Ahead of the actual product becoming available at the stores and outlets, the buyers are looking forward to the unpacking event that is scheduled for March 29 at an event in NY.
