Barrett engineered a four-play, 72-yard drive that took just 1:39 off the first-quarter clock and punctuated it with a 47-yard touchdown pass to freshman wide receiver K.J. Hill.

The Ohio State Buckeyes take on Bowling Green today in a college football game on the first big-time Saturday of the 2016 schedule.
A couple of notes on the table: The OSU defense column is from the perspective of Bowling Green’s offense – so the Buckeye defense had a 55% rushing success rate (45% for BGSU).
Ohio State’s defense held Bowling Green (0-1) to 244 total yards. The junior from NY was used as a running back, slot receiver, even a Wildcat quarterback, and there’s reason to believe he might finally give Meyer the hybrid weapon he’s been looking for since he had Percy Harvin at Florida.
“These are the games we ought to want to be in”, Jinks said.

Veteran quarterback J.T. Barrett broke a school record in being responsible for seven touchdowns – six passing and a seventh on the ground. The junior signal-caller went 21 for 31 with 349 yards passing. Redshirt freshman Mike Weber is starting at tailback, and Meyer said H-back Curtis Samuel will also run the ball.
Tyler Jones, who threw for 418 yards and four touchdowns for Texas State, caught a 22-yard touchdown pass from halfback L.G. Williams to start the third overtime and then slipped a shovel pass to Gabe Schrade for two points and the victory. “That’s why we have to get better every week and play our best ball at the end of the season”.
At 7-5, Ohio State is headed to NY for Christmas as the Buckeyes make their first appearance in the Pinstripe Bowl.
Bowling Green quarterback James Knapke had two passes intercepted and completed 12 of 33 passes for 110 yards.
“Any loss is hard, but every one is a learning opportunity”, Knapke said. “So we’re just going to try to find as many ways to use him as possible”.

“I feel good like most Buckeyes do right now, because a lot of these kids touching the ball, I could see people going through their programs saying: Who was that again?” Five Ohio State players were taken in the first round of the NFL Draft, which is a testament to how well run that program is. They also showed they have many weapons and stunning team speed. The Detroit native powered his way through the Bowling Green defense for 136 yards on 19 carries.
