Gamblers want me dead, says tennis star Watson

Watson has gotten at least 61 percent of her first serves in play and has won at least 75 percent of those points.

Just yesterday, Heather Watson eased herself into the third round, with a fantastic display against the Slovakian star Daniela Hantuchova, winning in straight sets 6-4 6-2.

Considering Serena Williams didn’t play her true best in her first round match against Margarita Gasparyan, it was questionable whether she would find her feet so early at this Wimbledon tournament and play at her true level, or never really reach it as happened at Roland Garros. It is certainly going to be a huge test.

Equalling her 2012 record, where she lost to third seed and eventual runner up Agnieszka Radwanska, the British number one, now has eyes for Williams on Centre.

Heather Watson and Serena Williams meet Friday in the third round of the 2015 Wimbledon.

“They re just kind of cowards thinking they can say whatever”.

“It’s about the preparation in understanding it’s going to be warm and not going for it too much because you want to make the points quicker than normal because of the heat”.

“So I think she’s the one to beat in tournaments like this. But I’m going to keep doing it”. Hopefully that experience will help me a little bit. I really enjoy posting, it’s usually always positive when I win; it’s just when I don’t win.

“I think those people, they ve got no life”, Watson said.

But Watson said abuse on Twitter has “become such a usual occurrence” she has stopped reading the messages. Then you ask yourself, ‘can the player actually do that?’ With Heather, it is a resounding yes in every department and that’s what is so exciting about working with her.

“I remember playing that match against Radwanska”.

But Croatian Cilic saved the first with a forehand victor and blew out his cheeks in relief when he saw Berankis’s forehand drop long on the second.

Ivanovic had reached the semi-finals at Wimbledon in 2007 and was heavy favourite to beat her world ranked 158 opponent.

Serena Williams rolls on as she looks to complete another Serena Slam. “I thought I played a lot better”, Watson said.

Williams and Watson will be playing against each other for the first time.

“I feel like she does really well on grass – she played well in Eastbourne a couple of times”.

British wildcard Liam Broady, meanwhile, admitted that his brief spell in the Wimbledon spotlight has given his career new-found impetus after crashing out in straight sets to 16th seed David Goffin.
