Game confirmed for 2016; Linkle

Back in November, Nintendo revealed Linkle, a female version of Link coming to Hyrule Warriors Legends.
While she may look like Link and dress like Link, the character ability and moves are totally different from Links. You can grow your Fairy to teach her new skills, and those skills can even be exchanged with other players, most likely through Streetpass.
Hyrule Warriors isn’t short on strong female fighters, but from the moment fans uncovered a concept drawing of a woman dressed in Link’s signature green tunic, they wanted one more added to the roster. The reasoning for her exclusion from the original game was a conflict with Aryll from The Wind Waker, who was the only canon sister to Link from an existing title.
The Legend of Zelda Wii U is going to be an open-world and action- world adventure where the Link can get to explore the huge overworld with very little focus on the defined exits and entrances to the dungeons.
Linkle wields dual crossbows in Hyrule Warriors Legends and has a spin kick attack.
Aonuma responded by indicating that Linkle certainly seems like she belongs to “The Legend of Zelda” universe, and as for her involvement in future titles, the producer said that they will “keep her in mind” as it relates to games that have yet to be made.
“She doesn’t feel out of place at all in the world of the Zelda games”, Aonuma explained.
“The Legend of Zelda” Wii U exclusive will be released in 2016 but there is no specific date yet.
The Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has said that Linkle may be featured in future Zelda games.
