Game of Thrones app from HC UK

HarperCollins, which publishes the Song of Ice and Fire series that Game of Thrones is based on, has released an app that basically helps lazy TV viewers read bits of the book without having to wade through the 1000-odd paged tomes. Called A Game Of Thrones: Get into the Books, the app boasts a number of features that allow users to dive deep into the world of the books and show.

One would think sampling excerpts from the books out of context would be confusing given the number of differences – and increasingly so – between Martin’s novels and the show.

The app will toss up handy maps of Westeros, and the extracts will take users between 10 to 25 minutes to read, according to a spokesperson for Harper Collins who told the publication the extracts will enable users to relive moments from the show. And don’t worry about authenticity – George R.R. Martin himself, alongside fans of the series, had input into the app’s development.

The app also comes with built in spoiler protection.

And they tend to have an insight into what’s going to happen on the small screen.

Words are wind: Use an app instead.
