The Americans, which has come in from the shadows, is making a strong showing at this year’s Emmys, but is that enough to blow Schreiber and Spacey out of the race?
Our other major Emmy contender is not in one of the nine major categories: actor Ben Mendelsohn, who stars in the Netflix drama Bloodline, is nominated for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series, against competition which includes Jonathan Banks (Better Call Saul), Peter Dinklage and Kit Harington (Game of Thrones) and Jon Voight (Ray Donovan). There are four outstanding programs that could bring home the 2016 prize. Rodriguez’s performance has critics and fans gushing about her charm, but she will have to wait another year to be recognized by the academy.

That’s because ESPN’s nearly-eight-hour documentary, “O.J.: Made in America”, premiered several days after the window for this year’s nominations closed on June 1.
