The Daily Show’s Emmy streak has officially ended, as the show, which won last year, didn’t score a single nomination in its first year with Trevor Noah at the helm.

Amusing or Die also received a short-form variety series nomination for its hilarious Game of Thrones series Gay of Thrones.

Black-ish’s Anthony Anderson and Gilmore Girls’ Lauren Graham announced the 2016 Emmy Award Nominations this morning, and you all can rest easy. And Outlander, one of the most popular shows on the planet and a genre-bending journey into all manner of historical romance, drama and personal torment, was shut out of the series and acting categories.

Emmy nominations for some of the most-anticipated categories of the year included the hit HBO series, Game of Thrones, for “Outstanding Drama Series”.

The nominees for best actor in a drama series include: Kyle Chandler, “Bloodline”; Rami Malek, “Mr. Robot”; Bob Odenkirk, “Better Call Saul”; Matthew Rhys, “The Americans”; Liev Schreiber, “Ray Donovan”; Kevin Spacey, “House of Cards”.

The nominees for best actress in a comedy series are: Tracee Ellis Ross, “black-ish”; Laurie Metcalf, “Getting On”; Lily Tomlin, “Grace and Frankie”; Amy Schumer, “Inside Amy Schumer”; Ellie Kemper, “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt”; Julia Louis-Dreyfus, “Veep”.

The streaming services Netflix and Amazon continue to make significant inroads, with each scoring its highest Emmy nomination totals this year, according to the Television Academy.

The reality-competition category was full of familiar faces as last year’s victor “The Voice” will go up against CBS’ “The Amazing Race”, NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior”, ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars”, Lifetime’s “Project Runway” and Bravo’s “Top Chef”.

11 nominations for “Silicon Valley”, including Outstanding Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series (Thomas Middleditch), 2 for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series (Alec Berg, Mike Judge) and 2 for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series (Alec Berg, Dan O’Keefe).

When it comes to empire-building, “Game of Thrones” is the one to watch. HBO’s “Veep”, last year’s victor for Comedy Series and Best Actress (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), grabbed even more nominations (17 in all), though the one for supporting actor Matt Walsh was a surprise, as was the snub of Hugh Laurie.

The 68th prime-time Emmy show will be broadcast live on ABC from 8-11 p.m. EDT on September 18, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel.

Cuba Gooding Jr, who played OJ Simpson, and Courtney B Vance, who portrayed Simpson’s lawyer Johnnie Cochran, are both up for best lead actor in a limited series. HBO’s Veep led comedy contenders with 17.

The FX crime drama Fargo, loosely based on Joel and Ethan Coen’s motion picture of the same name, was the third-most nominated production, with 18 nominations, including a bid for best limited series and a nod for Kirsten Dunst as best actress in that category.

Who are your favorites among the nominees this year?

They were among a number of black actors recognized by TV academy voters, who have started to keep pace with TV’s growing diversity – in sharp contrast to moviedom’s Academy Awards, which were slammed as “Oscars So White” this year.

Among other notable snubs were ABC’s sophomore sitcom Fresh Off the Boat, about an Asian-American family, for comedy series, and its stars Randall Park and Constance Wu. In that category she’s up against two other “SNL” hosts with local roots: Amy Poehler and Tina Fey, nominated as a duo.
