Game of Thrones now has more Emmy Awards than any other drama
Elsewhere in the Creative Arts Emmys haul, HBO’s “Game of Thrones” won nine, which might lead some prognosticators to say the drama’s chances of taking home the outstanding drama series Emmy Sunday – repeating last year’s triumph – may have just gone up.

Fey and Poehler co-hosted SNL on December 19 and delivered the second best ratings in 22 months, according to Variety, following only Donald Trump’s episode last November.
Vanessa Hudgens shows off a lot of leg while stepping out on the carpet for the 2016 Creative Arts Emmy Awards held at the Microsoft Theatre on Sunday (September 11) in Los Angeles. This is notable in that it’s Poehler’s first Emmy win, and it is also the first win by a duo in this category. Despite a stellar television career – marquee roles on Saturday Night Live, starring in her own prime-time network comedy series, getting rave reviews for co-hosting the Golden Globes – the comedic actress has never received one of those gold Emmy statues. Yes, hairstyling, sound mixing and editing are part of the Creative Emmy’s but there are plenty of talent categories and plenty of recognition went out to comedy performances and series over the weekend. It only needs four more to beat last year’s record for most wins by a TV series in a single season.
After the win, RuPaul said, “I’m in a state of shock right now”.
The 2016 Creative Arts Emmys show, featuring highlights, happens at 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 17 on FXX.
Mr Robot picked up its first Emmy with the music composition win for composer Mac Quayle.
It has the biggest chance for victory in Best Actress in a Drama Series as Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke and Maisie Williams are all in the running, with critics pointing to Headey as the eventual victor.
Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series, Limited Series or Movie: Game of Thrones.
In second with five Emmys was The People v O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, the six-episode re-creation of the famous murder trial shown on the FX channel.
Special visual effects: “Game of Thrones”, HBO.
