‘Game of Thrones’ Producers Sorry for the Hodor Repercussions
“Not for killing off Hodor, we kill a lot of main characters”. He and Hodor actor Kristian Nairn had an instant bond. Meera, while shouting to Hodor “Hold the door!” in the waking world, permeated Bran’s dream-like past state where the younger, past Hodor collapsed to the ground while writhing around, gasping “hold the door” until it mashes together to make one “Hodor”.

George R.R. Martin, the genius writer behind A Song of Ice and Fire (the novels on which GoT is based), sat down with Benioff and Weiss two years ago in Santa Fe to reveal his plans for the series.
It’s a shortened version of “hold the door” – the words he hears before he’s killed by White Walkers. Bran is still on the run (well, the drag), Jon is heading to his mother’s home lands, the Wall is painfully understaffed and Jorah has been friendzoned so hard he now isn’t even allowed to die in peace.
This season of “Game of Thrones” hasn’t shied away from not just offing plenty of characters in characteristically horrifying manners, but from unleashing that terror on beloved fan favorites, culling the herd in perhaps the most upsetting way possible.
At least one person-blogger Michael A Ventrella-accidentally guessed the true meaning of Hodor’s name after meeting George R.R. Martin in 2013 inside an elevator. Let’s all move on and let Hodor rest in peace. I can’t wait to see what comes next.
Still traumatised by the events in the latest episode of Game Of Thrones season six? “I was definitely pretty moved”.
The now deceased Three-Eyed Raven portrayed by Max von Sydow once called Bran by his full name – Brandon – prior to his last breath.
After finally knowing what “Hodor” meant, he admits it felt great. Who will be their saving grace this time? That one occurs much later in the series and “is from the very end”, Benioff said.
Well, now that Bran’s out in the open, if there is any chance of him surviving, then the next logical step would be to head somewhere he last saw any of his family.

Bran’s newly-established powers could possibly have significant consequences for the “Game of Thrones” universe.
