Game of Thrones season 6 fans are threatening violence, here’s why
But if Arya and the Waif are actually the same person, then that is how the Waif is always creeping around the corner, watching Arya, ready to report to Jaqen when Arya isn’t “there” so that he knows what’s going on with the two halves battling for Arya’s body, basically.

The last episode, The Broken Man, ended with the young Stark clutching her stomach as she walked through the streets of Braavos leaving a trail of blood in her wake. Shit. Except, what if that’s not the whole story? Damn. But now, a few theories have arisen from the GoT stans on Reddit. And this one is insane cool.
We are left with three equally likely options of who the Waif could be.
Some fans think they spotted the “real” Arya walking away from the scene before it happened. The first thing that came to every viewer’s mind is why Arya does not have the Needle on her.
If the Waif is no better than Arya at being No One, it’s not outside the realm of reason to imagine Jaqen secretly spying on – and potentially killing – the Waif, because, as he previously warned, “One way or another, a face will be added to the wall”. All those brutal training sessions?
“She defied the Faceless Men once, and now she does it twice”, Cogman said of Arya. What if it caused the split to occur? (Waif is Arya, Arya is Waif.) Another states that Jaqen H’ghar’s intention this whole time has been to test the Waif’s loyalty to the Many-Faced God, not Arya.
If the Lady Crane-Bianca feud was foreshadowing what would happen between Arya and the Waif, Jaqen could easily take on the savior role by assuming Arya’s identity and therefore stopping the Waif’s vengeance mission from succeeding. Plus, prior to the attack, Arya behaves very oddly, styling her hair differently, tossing around money she doesn’t possess, and staring longingly at the sights of Braavos (a city she’s only lived in briefly). Because she’s not doing a good job of that in Arya’s case.
We’ve mentioned before how Arya acts super strange and oddly carefree in the scene, despite the knowledge that a guild of face-changing assassins is surely coming after her.

As out there as this theory sounds, it’s not the only insane Arya theory circulating right now. There has been speculation about why the Waif has it out for Arya so badly – including a complex theory that the two girls are different sides of Arya’s personality and are actually the same person – but because of Arya’s unusual behaviour before the attack, there’s another explanation to consider.
