The fifth season finale, which saw Snow stabbed repeatedly and appearing to bleed to death, drew the show’s largest USA audience with some 8.1 million viewers, according to reports. Game of Thrones has always been able to keep us guessing and gasping and it looks like Season 6 will be no different judging by the new trailer.
Down deep in the gullet of this trailer lies the corpse of a dead Jon Snow.
When asked by the High Sparrow: “You would spill blood in this holy place?’ Jamie replies dismissively: ‘The Gods won’t mind”. We are expecting some new characters to be appearing for the first time.
Fan favorites Sansa Stark and Tyrion Lannister take up the majority of the trailer’s screen time. Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), aka Khaleesi and the Mother of Dragons, is seen captive.
Battle cry: Cersei tells her child: “Stand at the head of our army where you belong”.
You might want to avoid certain corners of Reddit in the coming days then, and consider muting Game of Thrones as a topic on Twitter. He’s dead. He’s really, really dead.
There are so many questions (who is that lovely woman that has Tyrion and Varys so concerned?) but luckily we only have to wait two more weeks to get some answers.
While you can listen to our podcast on our predictions for Game of Thrones season six here. Showrunners have promised a Game of Thrones season that is the best yet.
All we have now is yet another trailer that was released today.
HBO is keeping the season premiere of its fantasy hit under wraps, deciding not to send the episode to critics ahead of its April 24 air date.
