Game Of Thrones set for record-breaking Emmy Awards
“Game of Thrones” also should add to its Emmy totals with wins for supporting actor in a drama (either Kit Harrington or previous victor Peter Dinklage) and supporting actress (Lena Headey). In addition, co-stars Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys, who are married on the series, also tied the knot in real life. And Better Call Saul, in a season that expanded its crooked-lawyer story to examine Jimmy McGill’s malign influence on all around him, was TV’s second-best drama-just behind The Americans, which feels unlike any of its fellow nominees or any traditional multi-season show.

Fantasy epic “Game of Thrones” is poised to make television history at the 68th Emmy Awards on Sunday by becoming the most decorated fictional show since the awards began.
The host is Jimmy Kimmel, which adds to the frisson.
In the battle of the networks, perennial favorite HBO leads the nominations, with a reduced tally on past year but the biggest early success story has been Fox’s FX subsidiary, which got 56 nominations, a new record for a basic cable company.
Last year Viola Davis took home the “Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series” Emmy.
The all-time Emmy league table – which includes non-fiction – is topped by NBC comedy sketch show “Saturday Night Live”, with 48 awards. Facebook pages for ABC and the Emmys will simultaneously broadcast the live stream thanks to Facebook’s cross-posting feature.

If there was any doubt that “The People v. O.J. Simpson” is on the expected roll with voters, it was wiped out by last weekend’s creative arts Emmys (honoring achievement in technical and many behind-the-camera categories, as well as guest acting in series). Expect the late night comedian to let the zingers fly.
Analysis: The last three winners of this Emmy – Jeff Daniels, Bryan Cranston and Jon Hamm – are out of the picture, leaving the category open.
Before the actual awards are handed out, viewers can watch a good bit of coverage from the red carpet pre-show events.
The People v OJ Simpson is full of cracker performances, which has earned the show a huge number of nominations in the Emmys this year. “I know it’s not supposed to cause you stress but I’m stressed about the fact that I am three episodes behind in Mr. Robot right now”. Mr. Robot is about a paranoid millennial working in cybersecurity. However, he (thankfully) put his hosting skills in his pocket and broke out a moving portrayal of O.J. Simpson.
After four seasons, this year marks the first year that “The Americans” has scored an outstanding drama series nominee.
The first season of creator Ryan Murphy’s “American Crime Story” leads all shows with 13 nominations, but the verdict is out as to whether it will triumph over “Fargo” and its eight nods. Just because it is on a network should not take away from how good the show has become. The People v. O.J. Simpson has accumulated the second most nominations of any program at the Emmys – only one less than Game of Thrones. Nonetheless, the last season of GoT was one of the most impactful in the series and the award is probably theirs to lose.
For both the options, you’re required to have a valid login for ABC.
After winning best drama previous year, “Game of Thrones” is up for the honor again on Sunday.
Angela Lansbury may be a TV icon to the public, but apparently not to Emmy voters. Not you? Best comedy actor? It will be aired live by ABC from LA’s Microsoft Theater.

Kerry Washington truly outdid herself at the 2015 Emmy Awards, hitting the red-carpet in a glittering Marc Jacobs gown – a shining moment.
