If the Trump-Sanders debate does happen, it would involve an interesting dynamic between a candidate who has never been a part of the political system and one who has campaigned on a message of wanting to revolutionize the way politics in the USA works.

Shortly after Trump’s interview, Sanders posted a Tweet indicating that the two candidates were on the same page.

Sanders previously asked Clinton if she would debate him before the California primary election on June 7.

On the flip side, Trump has been trying to woo Sanders supporters away from the Democratic ticket, and he could use the debate to show them what he and the Vermont senator have in common. At a news conference in Bismarck, N.D., he said his campaign has had some calls from networks and “we’ll see”.

Kimmel said he asked Trump about the debate at the suggestion of Sanders, who is scheduled to appear on the show Thursday night. “That remains to be seen”.

MSNBC host Rachel Maddow argued on Thursday that the prospect of a debate between Sen. “He’s a dream”, he said in North Dakota. And one question now is whether Sanders will take the bait and really join with Trump to raise money for “women’s health”, whatever that might mean.

“I understand the television business very well”. “If I debated him we would have such high ratings”, Trump said. As usual, the presumptive Republican nominee was feelin’ himself.

“It should be in a big arena somewhere”, Trump continued. “And we can have a lot of fun with it. I’d love to debate Bernie”. Actually, I mean the problem with debating Bernie is that he’s gonna’ lose. “Both primary systems are rigged, but in particular the Democrats’ ridiculous system of superdelegates”.

Michael Briggs, a Sanders spokesman, said that Kimmel allowed the Sanders campaign to submit a question to Trump to be asked during the taping – so they asked about a potential debate. Kimmel said, quoting Sanders. Notably absent: The person who, as of this writing, has the best chance of becoming the next president of the United States.

The only thing that upset him about debating, he said was when there were an even number of candidates on stage, “so you had two in the middle”.

Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders have agreed to debate though nothing has been officially scheduled yet
