The Browns had twice more advanced deep into Kansas City territory.

The Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Cleveland Browns, 17-13, at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri on Sunday afternoon.
The Chiefs (10-5) could do even better, too. An AFC West title isn’t out of the question, although a lot is riding on what happens tonight on Monday Night Football with the Denver Broncos and the Cincinnati Bengals. After he was hit with a 40-yard pass interference, Alex Smith zeroed in on the cornerback and picked on him the entire first half.
“The way they assembled this locker room with this mixture between veteran guys and young guys, I think everybody pretty much understands kind of what it takes to be successful, ” he said. Kelce runs great routes and is excellent after the catch, but his lack of opportunity will continue to limit his upside, including next week against the Raiders team that held him to two catches and 42 yards in Week 13.
The Browns dropped to an abysmal 3-12 with Sunday’s loss to the Chiefs, though the Manziel-led squad put up a good fight until the final seconds.
The Heisman Trophy victor led Cleveland to 10 straight points, then took over at his 30 with 1:52 left and no timeouts.
They ran out before Manziel could get off another snap, and he spiked his helmet in frustration.
“We want to take advantage of his skillset, but at the same time we don’t want every play, as I have always said, to turn into a punt return”, Pettine said. “Regardless of what our record is, where we are in the season, it sucks not to win, especially when our coach and the other 10 guys put us in a position to try to get us in the end zone there at the end”. I just felt like I didn’t do the right thing in crunch time. “I don’t think we anticipated that his problems, his issues, how deep-rooted they were, the extent of it”. They let Johnny Manziel run for 108 and the Browns for 232 yards on the ground.
Over the weekend, a video surfaced of Manziel, wearing a “Merry Manziel” sweater, rapping to a song while another person appears to be drinking alcohol.
After Cleveland made some halftime adjustments, the second half was a different story.
“You look at the degree of an incident, so it would be hard for me to sit here and say, ‘We have a zero-tolerance policy, ‘ ” Pettine said at the time. Haslam is expected to announce his decisions on Farmer and Pettine a day or two after the season ends. The Pittsburgh Steelers lost to the Baltimore Ravens, giving the Chiefs a playoff berth.
“We didn’t panic, that’s the most important part”, said Chiefs linebacker Derrick Johnson to Skretta. He spent his first eight seasons in Kansas City, making a Pro Bowl in 2010, before signing a two-year, $13 million contract with Cleveland.

Pettine is just 3-17 in his past 20 games with Cleveland. “We’ve got to play smarter for a longer period of time”. Maclin surpassed that standard with an 11-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter and joins Terrell Owens (2004), Kevin Curtis (2007) and DeSean Jackson (2009-10) with more than 1,000 yards…. “He’s a heck of a player”, Smith said. “I just knew we had to win”. Williams has struggled since being thrust into the top corner spot with Joe Haden missing most of the year but he was not the sole reason the Browns defense struggled defensively in Kansas City today.
