Game Recap: Chiefs Intercept Carr 3 Times, Defeat Raiders, 34-20

The over/under total for this game has been set at 44.5 points. Kansas City’s offensive line is the other storyline, and one easily forgotten after critics piled on amidst early-season struggles. Spencer Ware rumbled for 114 yards and a score in his place, helping Kansas City has go over 100 rushing yards for a fifth straight game. In the second half, three straight touchdowns were followed by botched PATs.

It was a 25-yard TD, and Carr threaded the ball in between two defenders in what was perhaps his best throw of the season.

The nail in the coffin came when former Raider Tyvon Branch returned an interception 38 yards for a touchdown with 3:14 to play, sending a stunned silence throughout O.co Coliseum. Derek Carr was picked off three times and sacked four times. Mack is facing constant double-team attention since bookend pass rusher Aldon Smith was suspended. He had a 13-yard touchdown to put Kansas City up 26-20 and a 1-yard run with a lateral from Alex Smith. Oakland is 5-6 and likely in need of running the table, hoping to make the playoffs for the first time since 2002 when it reached Super Bowl XXXVII.

Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin scored to tie the game at 20 apiece on the ensuing drive while going on to add his second score on the day to give the Chiefs a late lead.

The Chiefs relied on their defense Sunday to beat the Raiders, 34-20, and extend their win streak to six.

At 7-5, the Chiefs probably won’t catch the Broncos in the AFC West but are chasing a wildcard spot.
