Games of Throne, Veep top Emmys
Game Of Thrones toasted a record-breaking night at the Emmys, while Dame Maggie Smith triumphed for Britain at the TV awards.

In the best actress in a comedy category, Julia Louis-Dreyfus won a fifth consecutive Emmy for her role as the hapless acting president on HBO’s Veep.
HBO’s hit series “Game Of Thrones” officially has the most Emmy awards, beating out “Frasier” (37 wins) with 38 wins in total.
John Oliver captured the best variety talk series award for Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, ending Comedy Central’s 13-year run of wins in the category. The series already became the most-honoured drama series after picking up nine Emmys at the Creative Arts ceremony last weekend.
Additionally, Emmys results show Keegan Michael-Key and Jordan Peele, Joe Earle, Anthony Hemingway, Jaqueline Glover, Paul Tazewell, RuPaul and Keith David all won Emmys for categories including sketch comedy series, producing, costume design, narration and hosting.

It was her third win for playing the formidable dowager.
McKinnon, a tearful victor of a supporting actress award in comedy for her work on “Saturday Night Live”, thanked Clinton upon accepting. She thanked Hillary Clinton in her speech.
Ben Mendelsohn of “Bloodline” won best supporting drama actor.
Jeffrey Tambor and Rami Malek also took home awards, and the big victor was the FX miniseries “The People vs. O.J. Simpson”, which will get it’s own article.
Outstanding comedy actress victor Julia Louis-Dreyfus also got in the act during the Emmys.
Susanne Bier won for directing for a limited series, movie or dramatic special for her work on AMC’s “The Night Manager”. Later in the night, after The Voice won the best reality show, Burnett, a producer for that show as well, shot back, saying Kimmel gave “another five minutes of free publicity” to Trump. Brown, who played attorney Christopher Darden in the dramatization, won for supporting actor in a limited series or movie.

It is the fifth time in a row Louis-Dreyfus has won the award for her role in the USA version of BBC comedy The Thick Of It. The Oculus team, specifically. The Emmy went to Ramiro Lopez Dau-directed “Henry” about a hedgehog trying to make friends.
