Gareth Bale: Wales will keep on fighting

Wales’ Gareth Bale opens his arms as he kneels on the pitch during the Euro 2016 Group B soccer match between England and Wales at the Bollaert stadium in Lens, France, Thursday, June 16, 2016. We have to show our quality as a team.

Coleman wants Wales to remain focused on their own objectives now the hotly-anticipated England game is out of the way and would like to emulate Roy Hodgson’s side.

“Watching France play Albania last night, I think it was a similar situation when Pogba and Griezmann came on the field”. They are a decent side, but we need to take the form we showed versus Wales into the second half against the Slovakians in St Etienne.

“It took a lot of probing and effort to get the chances we got, I am very pleased we now have four points from two games which in my opinion is the minimum we deserved from the performances”, added Hodgson.

Hodgson would not be the first England manager to start a tournament with one team and make up another on the move – it worked for Alf Ramsey in 1966 – though few have had to adapt in quite such strained circumstances.

“It’s all in the last game”, Coleman said.

“We have done ever so well to get here – we have done well in this tournament in a tough group”. There will be a lot of players who will feel hard done by and feel they should have been selected.

Poland’s Arkadiusz Milik had a glaring miss as he miscued a header and the ball bounced just wide of the right-hand post less than 20 seconds into the second half.

“Hart has made mistakes in the past and I am sure he will recover from it. But the goalkeeping area is something that was very strong for us in the past when we had the likes of Gordon Banks, Peter Shilton and Ray Clemence”.

Roy Hodgson has insisted he does not feel sorry for his opponents as he basked in the joy of England’s injury-time victory over Wales at Euro 2016.

“I think he has a long, hard season at Spurs where they do demand 100 per cent every week”.

“That helped the French get the victory they looked like they were going to be denied by a very well-organised Albanian team”. We have four points now and we should qualify. We will go into the next game with even more strength.

“The danger of this game was that everyone outside the camp was calling it the Battle of Britain and all that”.

“But we’re happy with the composure he brings to the team, we’re happy with the calmness at times when it gets a bit frantic when you’re chasing equalisers and a victor”.

Fair play to Roy though, he was bold at half-time in his changes and that has laid a platform and hopefully we will get through to the quarters now and then it depends who we get.
