Gary Kubiak trying to keep Broncos ‘in the moment’ during playoff bye

Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has had a tumultuous 2015 National Football League season, but the 39-year-old has admitted for the first time that it could be his last.

Football is a game of confidence. While he only completed five out of the nine passes that he threw, he did not turn the ball over, and managed the game efficiently enough for the Broncos to come out victorious.

“There were a lot of firsts, a lot of firsts for me this year”.

The Denver Broncos (12-4) are coming from a bye after beating the San Diego Chargers, 27-20, in the final week of the regular season.

And even if Manning does decide to retire after the playoffs, Denver Broncos players are confident in backup quarterback Brock Osweiler for the future. “So, I’m the only one who had to play him straight up like that”.

“We’re just happy no matter who’s at the helm”, running back C.J. Anderson said.

That implies they’ll be at home one weekend from now for their playoff opener and the group reported on Thursday that Manning will be their beginning quarterback for that diversion. “He looks really fresh out there and is throwing the ball well”, Kubiak said. “He pushed me every single day and got it out of me this year”.

“We’ve got two guys we can go with”, Thomas said, “and both of them can win games for us”.

In late October, Kirk Cousins barged through his team tunnel and shouted, “You like that?” – after going 33-for-40 for 317 yards and three touchdowns to headline a 24-point comeback win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’s 11-13, including a loss to the Steelers a decade ago with Indianapolis.

Osweiler proved his value and improved his earning power over the last two months.

The hit on Bruton came moments after he fractured his right fibula – he thought it was only a bad bruise – and he ended up playing 75 snaps on defense and special teams with the broken leg. Kubiak called that a testament to his toughness and said he would be sorely missed the rest of the way after being placed on IR.

“We pushed each other”, Marshall said. “He’s a very tough kid”.

“If anybody knows that you need to be prepared regardless of the situation, that’s me”, Osweiler said.

“Obviously, there are no discussions right now about what’s happening in the offseason and those kinds of things, but we think the world of him”, Kubiak said. But I am excited to be thinking about who we’re going to play this weekend, and to have the opportunity to help, to contribute in some way.
