Gary Neville seeks new challenge as Valencia’s coach
La Liga side Valencia have announced that they have appointed former Man United defender and captain Gary Neville as the club’s head coach until the end of the season.

Voro said he and Phil Neville would be preparing for Saturday’s game without input from Gary.
The 40-year-old Neville will be aided by younger brother Phil, who also played for United and joined Valencia last year as an assistant under former manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
“It is a great opportunity for Gaz and knowing him well he is brilliant at whatever he does”, Scholes told BBC Sport.
“Sitting on television these last few years talking about coaches, the time has now come for me to stand up”.
I’ve had a lot of conversations with the club and I want to underline that he is not here to satisfy the cub but to work with me and make decisions about the squad and the starting lineup.
“He was behind me 100 per cent”, Neville said of Hodgson’s reaction. Gaz likes to be in control wherever he is.
He said: “When I received the call on Sunday evening I thought “what a football club” and “what a challenge”.
“He is going to have to go into that full tilt and maybe start delegating a little bit”.
The former right-back will not take charge for Saturday’s clash with Barcelona but instead begin his tenure with a decisive Champions League home fixture against Lyon.
For too long England has been forced to choose between overcharging, overrated foreign managers and underwhelming English ones who have won nothing as players and nothing as coaches and bring very little to the table when it comes to the betterment of the English national team.
During his unveiling press conference on Thursday, Neville himself admitted that if the roles were reversed and he was a pundit analyzing a Spanish-speaking manager taking his first appointment in England that he would be questioning the move.
“We have high ambitions in both Champions League and La Liga and we go into every single game to win it. It’s a flawless match between the ambitions of the club and my own”.
“We are going to be facing a massive team with brilliant players”, he added. That is the way that they see it in Valencia, so there is pressure for him. And any doubts, any concerns, any reservations that people have can only be removed through winning football matches. “I am very happy but also curious how he will do”.
“From a long-term perspective I would never look at that or future jobs”, he insisted. “My responsibility is to appraise the players as quickly as possible and pick the best system that allows us to win straight away”. In between, he is football club owner, England assistant coach and a businessman according to Daily Mail. “I wanted to learn about different things coming out of football”.
“When I spoke to Roy, he was incredibly supportive and positive”.
