A reunion between the player and club is becoming more likely, with United seemingly open to the possibility of bringing back one of their favourite sons, per Anderson.

The former Manchester United player has a worldwide following, so it’s no surprise to see some fans, especially youngsters, get caught up in the hysteria.

It was clear that his head was already in Spain, though, with tantrums a regular feature of his performances: when a teammate didn’t pass the ball where he wanted or if the referee didn’t award a freekick he felt he deserved.

The Portuguese worldwide notched his 16th goal of the season in Real Madrid’s 2-0 win over Eibar at the weekend, but the attacker’s overall performances have been questioned in recent months. Ronaldo first won the Ballon d’Or while representing United in 2008, per the Telegraph, and he would have to consider whether he could maintain his status if he returns to the fallen giants. But in terms of success with Real Madrid, his team has been in Barcelona’s shadow. Ronaldo would still be out there on his own doing skills.

A bigger financial package, that is, which could only be Paris Saint-Germain, a club with whom Ronaldo has no history, but who can offer him a far more satisfying salary.

Ronaldo would be 31 by next summer but thanks to his excellent record with injuries and the impeccable shape he’s kept himself in throughout his career, he should have years left at the top.
