Gas prices jump 50 cents in past week to $3
Since the refinery’s partial shutdown on Saturday, gas prices spiked by as much as 40 cents per gallon across Midwestern states, including Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Ohio.

AAA said gas prices could fall below $2 per gallon in some parts of the U.S. this year. A year ago the average cost of a gallon of regular locally was $3.52.
Gas prices have fallen in Rhode Island for the sixth consecutive week.
Outside the Great Lakes, though, most regions are seeing gasoline price declines.
