Prices in Colorado dropped an average of 5.1 cents to $2.34 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy, prices Sunday were 55.3 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago, and 8.9 cents per gallon higher than a month ago. Denver-area pump prices fell 4 cents on average to $2.31 per gallon, mirroring the national average.

The result is from Gasbuddy.com, which surveyed 1,228 gas stations in the state.

But drivers are still paying 90 cents per gallon less on average compared to previous year. “The jump was led by states in the Midwest”.

Ah, just when you were getting used to gas prices falling, suddenly the arrow is pointing the other way. North Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and Oklahoma led with the largest increases, while areas of the West Coast saw continued relief at the pump.

“Consumers are saving 93 cents per gallon versus this same date a year ago”, he said.

DeHaan added that GasBuddy’s analysts still project gas prices to be $1.98 per gallon nationally by Christmas.
