GasBuddy: Gas prices rose 10 cents in Iowa last week

In Metro Detroit, the average price for gas is about $1.73 per gallon, which is 12 cents less than last week’s average, according to AAA Michigan.

Since that visit, Columbus GasBuddy shows prices dipping even further, $1.26 at a station near Clime Road and Demorest Road as of 2 p.m. A year ago, the average national price was about $2.14.

In Paducah, prices are ranging from $1.65 to $1.89.

Including the change in gas prices in Twin Cities during the past week, prices yesterday were 28.1 cents per gallon lower than the same day one year ago and are 15.5 cents per gallon lower than a month ago.

Harker Heights’ gas stations had the lowest prices Saturday afternoon, with the Sam’s Club at 600 W. Central Texas Expressway and Memory Lane showing a price of $1.37 for a gallon of regular unleaded. Blvd. near East Stan Schlueter Loop, selling at $1.57 a gallon. In the last week, average prices in OH have dropped 16 cents. Prices at other Piqua stations listed on the site ranged between $1.57 and $159 per gallon.

Gas prices are also falling in metro Detroit.

Nationally, the price of a gallon of regular averaged $3.60 for all of 2012, $1.64 more than it is right now.

Factors pushing prices downward include 482 million barrels of crude oil sloshing around in storage tanks waiting to be refined in to gasoline.
