Christmas Eve Forecast: Record-shattering warmth today
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in some parts of the country, but in others it feels more like a typical spring day. Green Christmas wins out this year with record-breaking temperatures making for a holiday that could get Heat Miser singing.

What the win means for Washington: While it shouldn’t be a big deal for a Pac-12 team to beat a Conference USA team – even one that won nine games – considering how very bad Washington was in its bowl game past year, concluding the season with a W is significant.

A police source told the ABC that the Merrylands home of Salihy raided this morning was also raided earlier this month. Police say their investigation disrupted the terror plot.

Now the Washington Huskies sport a record of 6-6, and have published a corresponding slate of 7-5 against the spread.

Turkish forces and PKK engage in intense clashes
The three-decade conflict between Turkish security forces and the PKK rebels have claimed the lives of more than 30,000 people. Turkey and Russia have been at odds since Ankara downed a Russian jet last month saying it violated its airspace.

“Shifts, motions, run, play-action shots down the field, formations, trick plays”, said Monken.

The Huskies feature a trio of young players in big roles offensively.

Freshman quarterback Jake Browning has completed 62.9 percent of his passes for 2,671 yards, 16 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He was intercepted 10 times.

Myles Gaskin capped a sensational freshman year by rushing for a career-high 181 yards and four touchdowns, including an 86-yard run to give Washington the lead late in the third quarter, and the Huskies continued their late-season surge with a 44-31 victory over Southern Mississippi in the Heart of Dallas Bowl on Saturday.

Think back to when this season began, on the blue turf at Boise State, where the Washington Huskies could hardly run the ball or protect their true freshman quarterback.

Leading the Washington receivers in catches this season was senior wideout Jaydon Mickens (50 catches, 597 yards, 2 TDs). Playing an SEC team, and potentially beating them, would be great exposure for the Golden Eagles.

Southern Miss is trying to reverse its recent fortunes against P5 teams, as the Golden Eagles have lost their last 8 games against P5 opponents, including losses to Mississippi State and Nebraska earlier this season. The only other team to accomplish those numbers was the 2008 Oklahoma squad.

They sandwiched a 56-yard touchdown pass from Mullens to Michael Thomas as Southern Mississippi’s offense flexed its muscles. On the ground, Jalen Richard rushed for 1,098 yards and 14 touchdowns. Gaskin closed the regular season rushing for at least 100 yards in his final three games and six of the last eight.

Mike Thomas broke the school record for receiving yards (1,201) and has 12 touchdowns while Casey Martin and D.J. Thompson have combined for 1,598 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns.

Washington entered Saturday as probably the nation’s best 6-6 team. “I mean a really good team when you watch all their tapes and what they’re doing”.

The Washington defense held opponents to averages of 349.9 total offense and 17.8 points a game.

In addition to a familiarity with Washington due to its likeness with Western Kentucky, Southern Miss also recognizes much of what the Huskies do after facing Boise State in 2013.
