Gasoline analyst: Wichita gas prices are likely to keep falling

This compares with the national average that has fallen 7.1 cents per gallon in the last week to $2.60/g, according to gasoline price website GasBuddy.com.

The average price Saturday in St. Louis was $2.47 per gallon.

Maine drivers continue to pay less at the pump. It was 93 cents cheaper than a year ago. The price of oil averaged $45.72 the week gas prices hit their 2015 low from January 26-31.

AAA Michigan says gas prices statewide have dropped by about 16 cents in the past week.

Last week BP PLC’s massive refinery in Whiting, Ind was forced to shut down partially on account of leaky pipes.

The last time West Texas Intermediate crude oil was under $40 was on February 24, 2009.

In Rutherford County, the area average is already dipping down to $2.10 for a gallon of regular gasoline.

If you have to fill up, there’s some good news for your wallet as gas prices continue to drop across metro Atlanta.

Some parts of the country could quickly see $2 gasoline at the pump, said James Williams, energy economist at WTRG Economics. “Some refinery problems may delay it in the Midwest and Delaware”. He expects gas to be below $2 by Thanksgiving, if not well before then.

Also keeping prices higher is the fact that gas stations are required to sell a more expensive summer blend of gas until September 15, when environmental regulations allow the winter blend to roll out.

Even in Quesnel, gas is $1.19/litre.

In contrast Nashville drivers paid on average $2.46 per gallon Monday morning.
