In what we hope will be an important display of inclusiveness, TMZ is reporting thatLogo’s gay bachelor series Finding Prince Charming has at least one HIV-positive contestant.
“It is true”, Bass told People Magazine about the gay dating reality show. “But what I want people to focus on is who I am today as an entrepreneur, as an activist”. “You won’t see Prince Charming getting on his knee and proposing at the end of this show”.
As for the reveal itself – we’re told it was emotional and Robert was supportive of the cast member.
“For me, it’s like: Is someone HIV-positive not worthy of love?”
“In the gay community, in just any community, if you have a disease, it’s not going to be anything that someone’s going to push you away from”, Sepúlveda Jr. continued.
Producers were aware of the contestant’s status but did not reveal anything to the rest of the cast, according to TMZ. I’m not going to not date someone because they’re HIV-positive.
The reality is we all need to think about awareness, prevention and treatment.
While the show has already been taped, there was no word on how far the mystery contestant advanced in the competition after disclosing his diagnosis to Robert.

The show will premiere on 8 September on Logo and episode one will introduce Sepulveda who “looks for love” in paradise. “There’s a chance that these suitors might fall in love with each other, so there’s a whole extra element in this layer of uncertainty that could happen in this house”.
