It’s hard not to agree with McGregor’s stance.
In a recent statement, Disney has made a decision to postpone the screening of their new Beauty and the Beast rendition. There are reports the film is “postponed indefinitely”.
Disney officials have yet to respond to a request for comment, the Associated Press said. The board will give “Beauty & The Beast” a P13 rating if the scene is removed.
“He’s a gay character”, McGregor said. Any scenes with any indication towards homosexuality are forbidden. The film is set for release on 17 March.

The studio, however, clarified that it is only pulling out “Beauty & The Beast” in theaters in Malaysia temporarily.
It’s unclear if Disney will forgo a Malaysia release entirely.
This has reportedly led to Russian Federation imposing age restrictions on the movie, with only moviegoers aged 16 and above allowed to watch the film in cinemas. In the end, Russian Federation decided not to ban it but has restricted Beauty and the Beast to anyone under the age of 16.
The British actor, who plays Cogsworth in the live-action Disney film, mentioned the controversy at the New York City premiere. It turns out he dances with a guy in a dress in one of the scenes. The movie is rated PG in America.
Malaysian Tourism and Culture Minister Nazri Aziz warned that the move to block the screening of the movie in the country will only result in Malaysians downloading it illegally online.
