Gayle King Keeps It Light In Presidential Super Bowl Interview

In an interview with CBS’ Gayle King on Super Bowl Sunday, President Obama and the first lady, Michelle Obama, talked about everything from Super Bowl traditions to advice for the next presidential couple. “This is an old building so there’s a lot of dead spots where the WiFi doesn’t work…no, actually it’s an issue”.

“I’m not telling you my pick – because the Bears aren’t in it”, Obama said.

Ahead of Sunday’s Super Bowl, President Barack Obama revealed how he and the first family plan to watch the big game, including the all-important menu.

The couple also described their Super Bowl routine, saying they invite friends over to watch the match and eat food including pizza and nachos.

“We’re taking “Let’s Move” off the table for the day”, first lady Michelle Obama joked in the first half of the CBS sit-down, dismissing rumors that she’d be making carrot quesadillas.

“There’s, like, the little vegetable tray that nobody touches”, the president added.

And they said their big football party is just like everyone else’s around the country, and that guests “rate the commercials”.

“There’s the Champagne room where you don’t know what’s going on but you are close to the Champagne”, she said. “We’re gonna have two types of salads”, the first lady added.

“Deeply”, she said. “I got dressed for the halftime show, I hope Beyonce likes what I have on”.

Later in the interview, King pulled out a touching photo of the Obamas at their first inauguration in January 2009 and asked what they were both thinking at the time of the photo.
