GBI Says Ga. Police Officer Lied About Being Shot By Suspect
The police officer who claimed a black man shot her last week fabricated the story and is now facing multiple felony charges, including evidence tampering and giving false statements to investigators, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed Friday to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

GBI spokesman Scott Dutton said that Hall has turned herself in and is in custody. She said she was shot in the abdomen area of her body armor when she confronted the man.
Morgan told 13WMAZ that Hall approached the man, he argued with her and that’s when she was shot.
Hall is now on paid administrative leave, Morgan said.
“For two weeks, the good people of the city of Jackson poured out their hearts in expressions of concern and support for what we believed to be a police officer – one of our own – harmed in the line of duty, Pippin said”. More than 600 work hours were spent on the investigation, Dutton said.
Warrants issued by a GBI investigator allege Hall used a second firearm, also issued to her by the police department, to plant a shell casing she said came from a gun fired by the suspect. Sherry Hall further advised that she did not engage her in auto video and audio recording equipment. That evidence was inconsistent with her statements, and investigators determined she was not a victim of a shooting, Wooten said.
The GBI conducted an interview with Hall. During this interview Sherry Hall watched the video, and at that time Hall stopped cooperating with the investigation.
The GBI was called in to independently investigate the incident by the Jackson Police Department. That handgun was recovered after a search of Hall’s home. This particular weapon was located and seized, which gave rise to certain warrants concerning this investigation.

At that point, the GBI met with Jackson’s police chief and district attorney and they agreed to expand the investigation.
