GCSE Results 2016: Charters School

Dan Clayton had no idea what to expect when he got his results.

A large number of the year group achieved a clutch of top grades, with 43.8 per cent achieving at least three A* / A grades and 30.6 per cent achieving at least five top grades.

Impressively, over 90 per cent of pupils gained a C grade or above in science – a subject which the school recently achieved a National Science Mark Gold Award for. After seeing results improve every year since 2008, it is an outstanding achievement.

“These results were particularly pleasing as they came at a time of increased rigour in national assessments but show what can be achieved due to the hard work of students, the support of parents and the professionalism of staff”.

There were plenty of smiles at St Richard’s Catholic College as pupils received their GCSE results today (Thursday, August 25).

Principal Scott Hudson said, “This year’s GCSE results are broadly in line with our results last year”.

“The majority of our students will remain with us to pursue their education in the sixth form, with some taking up prestigious apprenticeships across the county”.
