SCHOOL bosses at Clacton County High School are celebrating “wonderful” GCSE results which saw a huge 18 per cent improvement on previous year.
Also flying high were Hannah Hobbs and Izzie Hunter, who both received eight A*s and three As, and Lizzie O’Brien and Ben White-Horne who walked away with an awesome six A*s – Ben’s performance was all the more impressive with the fact he completed a GCSE in Computing one year early, scoring full marks in all aspects of the course.
Headteacher, Karen Pomeroy, is delighted with this year’s results and paid tribute to the continued dedication of all staff and the consistent hard work and commitment of the students.
“Our proud standing as a STEM centre of excellence is evidenced in the results for STEM subjects, including 60% of chemistry students who achieved A*/A grades and 78% of statistics students achieved an A*/A and the outstanding pass rate in biology and physics, 97% and 94% respectively”.
Ben Jones also achieved straight A* grades in his 11 subjects.
