A large number of the year group achieved a clutch of top grades, with 43.8 per cent achieving at least three A* / A grades and 30.6 per cent achieving at least five top grades.

“The results the students have achieved this summer again confirmed that students can achieve highly at William de Ferrers School which is at the heart of its community”.

Charters student Connor Jackson said: “I am very pleased with my results and over-achieved, particularly in the science subjects”.

“I couldn’t have done it without the teachers, they were really helpful”.

Head Vanessa Whitcombe, said “I am delighted that students’ dedication and commitment has earned them the results they deserve”.

Some 79 per cent of students received five or more A*-C grades, including English and maths – a rise of 3 per cent compared to a year ago.

“I got 10 A*s, one A and one B”.

GCSE results at Hunstanton’s Smithdon High School were broadly in line with expectations, according to its headteacher.

“I feel relieved my GCSEs are done and I am now looking forward to studying my A-levels”.

“We have had a couple of years when our maths results have interfered with the overall achievement but with the new maths team appointed this year, things have definitely changed for the better”. I know that our staff will join me in wishing students the very best for the future.

“The remarkable thing about our students is not just their excellent academic ability, but also the extra-curricular activities in which they take part, often achieving extremely high standards in fields such as music, sport and drama”.
