In an incredibly in-depth interview with Digital Foundry (which you can read through all you want if you’re the sort to salivate over the technical side of games development) The Coalition’s technical director Mike Rayner explains the benefits of Gears on PC. “Support for v-sync tearing has recently come to UWP [Universal Windows Platform] and we will be able to offer proper unlocked frame-rate support that gamers expect on day one”.
-Dynamic resolution support (any resolution will be supported with a sensible dynamic field of view – including ultra-wide).
Gears of War 4 will be one of the first games to take advantage of the Xbox Play Anywhere program, where Xbox exclusives will no longer be exclusive, as they will be playable on PC.
However, this will change with the release of the Gears of War 4 game for PC. “We have invested in scalable features in our engine to support a broad range of GPUs and performance profiles for PC and Console”.
Increase texture resolution (up to 4K resolution for select texture groups).
The idea behind these features is to make the players feel like the game is PC-native rather than console-native and this will most certainly please the PC users who don’t have consoles, but wanted to play the game without the expected limitations from porting the game from the Xbox platform to the PC platform. As stated by The Coalition – the company responsible for the series – in a Eurogamer interview, the game will have many PC specific features.

This bundle will come with Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition download code, early access to the game on October 7, Gears 4 weapon and character skins, a multiplayer lobby emblem and six “Gear” packs containing in-game items.
