Although no more information is available regarding the incident, the police confirmed that Simmons and his family members are not suspects of any crime. “The search warrant is strictly for evidence”.
Jenal says the detectives involved want to emphasize that Simmons and his family were “extremely cooperative” and none of them are suspected of a crime.
Officer Mike Lopez told the Los Angeles Times, “The search is not related to Simmons and his family”. While authorities have said that the 65-year-old Kiss frontman and his family are not the target of the investigation, they would not reveal the names of the suspects, the Los Angeles Times reported.
Simmons’ representative said in a statement that the LAPD asked the family not to discuss the investigation to avoid compromising it.
The Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force helps “state and local agencies to develop effective, sustainable responses to online child victimization and child pornography”, according to their website.
