General election presidential debates announced
The third and final presidential debate next year is set for October 19 at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, was chosen as a backup site for the debates.

The non-partisan, non-profit Commission on Presidential Debates began in 1987, and has sponsored and produced debates for presidential and vice-presidential candidates in every general election cycle since 1988.
Ohio has been a crucial swing state in recent presidential elections, and the GOP is holding its national convention in Cleveland next July.
With today’s announcement, Washington University has earned the distinction of hosting more debates than any other institution in history.
Presidential debate organizers have finalized the four schools where the 2016 debates will take place. It was picked for a 1996 debate but the event was canceled when the number of debates that year was cut to two from three.

“They quite obviously have confidence in us”, he said.
Wright State’s Nutter Center was, in 2008, the scene of another major event in a presidential campaign – it is where Republican presidential nominee unveiled his running mate, Sarah Palin.

Tomblin and several state, city and county agencies to explore what might be possible here”.
