General Mills announces its first new cereal in more than 15 years
General Mills is introducing its first new cereal brand in more than 15 years. According to CBS News, General Mills is pinning a lot of their hope on their new cereal, which is called Tiny Toast.

Tiny Toast is created to appeal to younger, health-conscious consumers because it’s one of the few breakfast cereal on the market flavored with real fruit and has no high-fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors or colors. But whether or not it will lure the granola munchers is still unknown. To put that into perspective, it’s the same amount as Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and one gram less than Lucky Charms (but without any of the beloved marshmallows).
While cereal has always been a relatively popular breakfast food, in recent years other options have gained in popularity.
“According to General Mills, the cereal is meant to have the “all-family appeal” of brands such as Honey Nut Cheerios and Cinnamon Toast Crunch”, according to a news report published by Business Insider.
General Mills also shared that they are 80 percent through improving their current cereals by removing artificial additives.
The president of General Mills says the cereal is the result of costumers demanding more natural products.
The launch comes three months after General Mills told analysts it was feeling “bullish” about its prospects for cereals growth in 2016. Work began on Tiny Toast more than a year ago.

“Consumers’ tastes continue to evolve, but they remain steadfast in their search for options with wholesome, pantry-friendly ingredients”, said General Mills senior marketing manager Alan Cunningham.
