General Motors Challenges Tesla With New Chevy Bolt EV
“The Bolt EV is a game changer for the electric auto segment and it will start to become available at Chevrolet dealerships later this year”.

General Motors knows customers will be focused on battery life. If they are going to develop a rival for the Model 3, the will announce it like it is.
News of the Chevrolet Bolt’s 238 miles of electric range will change the calculus for many EV shoppers, especially those considering the outgoing Nissan Leaf or eyeing the vaporwarish Tesla.
According to Fortune, General Motors CEO Mary Barra declared a year ago that the company will make the Chevrolet Bolt more affordable and more advanced than any electric vehicle in the market – a subtle jab at Tesla whose cars often carry premium prices.
The Bolt, before it even goes on sale, is expected to make 200-plus miles and a starting price below $30,000 the new benchmark for EVs, making them a credible commuter even at a time when it (once again) costs about $30 to gas up a 15-year-old Ford Expedition.
General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) made headlines this week by announcing its 2017 Chevy Bolt, a vehicle many industry execs see as a potential thorn in the side of Tesla Motors (NASDAQ:TSLA).
Still, GM remains confident that it can beat Tesla.
A representative from GM revealed in an interview earlier today that the Bolt EV is just an initiative to offer green cars. The price tag of the Model 3 is $35k and this is compared to the price tag of the Bolt, which is $37k.
The Chevy Bolt also is said to have the backing of the company’s cash war chest.

Tesla, on the other hand, said that its styling and technological prowess have lured more than 300,000 people to shell out reservation deposits of $1,000 for the Model 3.
