General Motors The Only American Automaker Named To Dow Jones Sustainability Index

DJSI compiles its global index of sustainability-driven companies using RobecoSAM’s annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment.

General Motors has received yet another nod for its achievements in environmental sustainability.

“Grow – Conserve – Care” approach to managing sustainability is rooted in our fundamental belief that good sustainability practices lead to long-term shareholder value and competitive advantage.

Taiwan’s largest steel maker, has been included in the DJSI-World and DJSI-Emerging Markets indexes for the third consecutive year, according to the RobecoSAM rankings.

Being named the DJSI World biotechnology industry leader is the latest recognition for the company’s citizenship initiatives, which have also included heading the Newsweek list of Top Green Companies in the World 2015, being named the world’s most sustainable company by the research firm Corporate Knights, and receiving a ideal score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index. S&P Dow Jones Indices, in partnership with RobecoSam, announced the addition of Bank of America, Telefonica SA and BHP Billiton to the indices. Today, the DJSI are globally recognized by investors as the leading benchmarks for corporate sustainability. Despite the continuous bar-raising in the assessment process, including increased requirements for the implementation of sustainability-minded business practices, Deutsche Post DHL Group saw rating improvements across several DJSI components.
