Senator Richard Burr and Feinstein noted that Pakistan Army’s perseverance and commitment had degraded militants in North Waziristan. Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Thursday met US Vice President Joe Biden at the White House and discussed matters relating to bilateral relations and regional issues. Kerry acknowledged Pakistan’s contributions and enormous sacrifices in fight against terrorism.
The Army Chief also met the Senate Armed Services Committee at the Capital Hill on Thursday. The COAS highlighted Pakistan’s perspective of regional security.
“The general’s consultations in Washington were part of our regular ongoing bilateral discussions with a broad range of Pakistani officials, and we appreciate the productive discussions we had regarding our bilateral defence and security relationship”.
