Geneva Bomb Hoax: A wife caused security scare at airport
French authorities, in collaboration with Switzerland’s Public Ministry, have raided the woman’s home in Annecy, in the Savoie region of France close to the Swiss border, Le Tribune de Genève reported.

A notice on Geneva airport’s website said: “The police has chose to strengthen preventive security controls at Genève Aéroport”.
Security was tightened around Geneva Airport.
The Geneva prosecutor’s office says an anonymous caller set off a false bomb alert that prompted a police sweep at the Swiss city’s airport.
“They found a woman who admitted to having made the call and explained that she wanted thereby to prevent her husband from leaving”, the statement said.
The incident saw security ramped up at the airport with officers carrying machine guns put on duty.
Outside, the vehicles visiting the airport were subject to controls and roadblocks were set up at all entrances and exits.
Airport spokesman Bertrand Staempfli advised passengers to arrive early given delays due to extra checks but said there were no serious problems with access.
“Passengers are kindly asked to allow additional time for check-in”, police added.
Preventive security measures were under way around the airport, the police said on their Facebook page, and would continue for an indefinite period.

Security was also heightened on the French side of the border. Armed officers were checking the documents of visitors but airport officials said the airport was open and functioning normally.
