Swiss federal police say they have no information linking suspects at the centre of a heightened security alert in Geneva to the deadly attacks in Paris last month.

The terror alert in the Swiss city of Geneva has been raised as security officials up the search for four suspects in connection to the Paris attacks. She would not comment on the nature of the threat. Authorities didn’t specify what number of people have been being sought or their identities.
Islamic State militants said they carried out the 13 November attacks on multiple locations, killing 130 people. Police in several European countries are still searching for individuals believed to have been involved in the attacks or in their planning. Armed UN security guards were stationed at entry points for cars and were on maximum alert.
The statement from Geneva’s government said police “have increased their level of vigilance”, while the ATS new agency reported that security reinforcements were being deployed at key buildings around the city, including the headquarters of major worldwide organisations and the airport.
Geneva is just over 500 km from Paris; the Swiss city is nearly entirely enclosed by France, with border crossings often unmanned. Police in Belgium and elsewhere have been searching for Salah Abdeslam, who rented a vehicle which was used to carry gunmen to the Bataclan theatre in Paris, since the attacks.

Anti-terror police raided the family home near Strasbourg, north east France after the mother, named only as Mrs Aggad, rang investigators to report the contact.
