One of the main attractions of this year is the upcoming fight between Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux.

When Golovkin decides to punish an opponent, there are few sights as spectacular in boxing. His latest victory was a sixth-round knockout against Willie Monroe Jr.in May, to improve his career record to 33-0.
“This is the biggest test for me”. Lemieux is the IBF middleweight champ, having won the belt from Hassan N’Dam four months ago in a dominant unanimous decision, knocking him down four times. Six of his last 12 fights haven’t made it past the third round, and Golovkin said this week he only let his win over Curtis Stevens in 2013 go to eight rounds because he wanted to teach him a lesson. I will beat any style – amateur style or brawl style.

“I’m a big underdog, which is ideal by me”.
“Those two losses are completely insignificant to where I am today, because, you know, everybody has their path, everybody has their ways of doing things and their evolution and becoming a champion”, Lemieux said. It’s about character, toughness and determination.
However, Golovkin has never been off his feet in several hundred pro and amateur fights, although “GGG” has not been pushed to his limit and has not beaten a top-10 opponent yet.
Lemieux talks a positive game, but he’s going to need a lot of luck on Saturday night if he wants to win this fight because I don’t know if he’s capable of beating Golovkin at his own game.
“Training camp is a little bit new, a little bit different, not like any of the others”, Golovkin said via Opening Round.
“I’m scared only like one percent, not 100 percent, but only 1 percent”.
Lemieux, a bonafide puncher, is better than any boxer that Golovkin has faced, which actually may spell doom for the Montreal native.

While Lemieux is slightly quicker, Golovkin is a stronger puncher and has a great chin. If he boxes he could go twelve rounds.
