George Clooney Praises Bernie Sanders While Fundraising For Clinton, Confuses Everyone
Actor George Clooney, who supports Hillary Clinton in the Democratic race for the White House, falls in line with Bernie Sanders on at least one issue: the “obscene” amount of money that funds political campaigns.

“Their T-shirts said, you know, ‘You sucked as Batman”, Clooney said, referring to his 1997 performance in the widely panned Batman & Robin.
The lucrative event Friday drew a number of pro-Sanders demonstrators, who Clooney said called him a “corporate shill” and ripped into some of his film choices.
Where the avowed socialist Sanders has spoken of a “revolution”, campaigning for free college and healthcare, Clinton has touted her record of incremental change, pointing to victories in the charter school system and local hospitals in her eight years as a senator.
Clooney faulted Clinton for not better explaining where the money she is raising goes. Asked whether the battle with Hillary Clinton is hurting the party, Sanders said, “The only way the Democrats are going to win is with a large voter turnout, and we are helping to create that turnout”, he said.
Supporters of Democratic Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders rallied in Foley Square and then marched on Broadway to Union Square Park ahead of an afternoon of door-to-door campaigning ahead of the New York State Primary. “Together, we won’t just make promises we can’t keep”, she said at Thursday night’s CNN debate, adding, “We’ll deliver results that will improve the lives of the people in NY and in America”.
“Well, you kinda got me on that one”, Clooney responded.
In an email seeking $2.70 contributions, Sanders highlighted the size of Clinton’s fundraising checks and the actor’s comments about them.
Supporters of Bernie Sanders protested outside the Friday night fundraiser, which was the context for Todd’s question to Clooney. The ones he and other Democratic donors support “would probably cost us a lot of money” while “the Koch brothers would probably profit if they get their way”.
