George Clooney: The money I’ve raised for Hillary Clinton is ‘obscene’
Supporters of Bernie Sanders “made it rain” on Hillary Clinton’s motorcade as it passed en route to a high-dollar fundraiser at actor George Clooney’s Los Angeles home, throwing dollar bills into the air.

Clooney hosted a $33,000 a plate fundraiser for the Hillary Victory Fund in San Francisco Friday night, where the proceeds would be split among Clinton’s primary campaign coffers, the Democratic National Committee’s own treasure chests, and various state Democratic parties.
George Clooney recently hosted a campaign fundraiser that he later admitted cost “an obscene” amount of money for the donors attending the event.
ACTOR and director George Clooney, a supporter of Hillary Clinton’s presidential bid, has broken ranks to condemn the “obscene” sums of money in U.S. politics and praised Clinton’s chief political rival in the process.
Sanders’ criticism of special-interest money in politics is at the core of his campaign, even though he has outraised Clinton in recent months on the strength of a powerful online, small-dollar fundraising operation.
Sanders, who wants to reform the campaign finance system, has criticized Clinton for holding pricey fundraisers hosted by the Clooneys in both San Francisco and Los Angeles. He also addressed protester accusations that he is a “corporate shill”, saying, “That’s one of the funnier things you could say about me”.
That could be a hard feat as new numbers out today, coming from a CBS/Yougov poll, show Sanders 10 points behind, with 43 percent of New York Democrats supporting the Vermont senator and another 53 percent supporting the former of secretary of state. “Do we have a government that represents all of us or represents the one per cent?” “They’re absolutely right. It is an obscene amount of money”, he said in excerpts released last Saturday. “I think there is a difference between the Koch brothers and us, you know?” As she noted in the rest of her response, she has previously voiced support for activists pushing for a $15 minimum at the local level. “I like him”, Sanders commented during an appearance on CNN. “What’s happening up the hill is just emblematic of a group of people that are just out of touch with what’s really going on in this country”, said Jay Ponti, who organized the Sanders event.
