Emmert said even if it’s true that Bush would vote for Clinton, he doesn’t expect it will hurt Trump.
But sources with knowledge of the conversation told CNN they were surprised and disappointed that Kennedy Townsend had publicly shared a private conversation with the former president. But former Kansas Sen.
And Jeb Bush, Trump’s former primary rival, has said he won’t vote for Trump or Clinton.
The speculation started late Monday, when news outlets began reporting that a daughter of Robert Kennedy, Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, had posted a photo on Facebook of herself and Bush, the 41st president.
The 92-year-old Bush, who governed from 1989-1993, has not made public his opinions about the electoral race, but his children – former President George W. Bush and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush – have expressed their unease with Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

The two grew so close that George W. Bush has referred to Clinton as his “brother from another mother”, and Clinton has said the two bonded over becoming grandfathers.
“It’s not surprising that a father might not vote for the person who beat his son the primary”, said former Chairman of the Dallas County Republican Party Wade Emmert.

George H.W. Bush isn’t the only Republican to find issue with voting for Trump as Mitt Romney has repeatedly spoken out against him publicly.
