George HW Bush, 91, falls, breaks bone in neck, hospitalized
During a brief press conference, a physician treating the former president at the hospital, Dr William D’Angelo, said “it usually takes three to four months” for a patient of Bush’s age to recover from a fracture of this kind. Dr. D’Angelo went on to say that Bush is “doing great” and that “he’s up and talking and been out of bed”.

A spokesman for George H.W. Bush’s other son, George W. Bush, said he was monitoring the situation from Texas. The hospital has issued a statement saying he is stable, but it is too early to tell as to when he will be released.
The Republican served two terms as Ronald Reagan’s vice president before being elected president in 1988. “We wish him a speedy recovery & hope he’s back in the saddle soon”.
Bush, who at 91 is the oldest living former American president, was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland following the fall on Wednesday at his seaside compound in Kennebunkport.
His spokesman said he did not lose consciousness after the fall and confirmed he had been fitted with a brace to immobilize his neck.
He was never disoriented and the injury did not result in any neurological problems, his spokesman Jim McGrath said.
Throughout the day, people have been snapping pictures, discussing the former president’s situation, rallying for his health.
The 41st president was taken there by ambulance from his vacation home in Kennebunkport, reports CBS News correspondent Bill Plante.
All things considered, Ezekiel said the outcome for Bush looks good. It said he would be there at least overnight.
Bush uses a wheelchair because he has Parkinson’s disease, and “in general, Parkinson’s can create less mobility and balance”, D’Angelo said. He was after experiencing shortness of breath. Before that in 2012, he was in intensive care being treated for bronchitis.
