George HW Bush for Democrat Clinton? A Kennedy says so
A prominent member of the Kennedy family says former Republican President George HW Bush told her that he plans to vote for Democrat Hillary Clinton for president this fall.

In remarks from North Carolina where he held a campaign rally on Tuesday, Trump said he “wouldn’t be surprised” if George H.W. Bush was voting for Hillary Clinton. The former president, however, isn’t talking.
“The President told me he’s voting for Hillary!” read the caption of a picture Kathleen Kennedy Townsend posted on Facebook, as she shook the 92 year-old ex-president’s hand.
Jim McGrath, a spokesman for the former president, 92, would neither confirm nor deny Townsend’s claim.
Townsend’s post was reported on Monday by Politico. “He is not commenting on the presidential race in the interim”.
A Facebook post has rocked the U.S. presidential elections.
Townsend later told Politico she met with Bush, 92, in ME on Monday, where he told her about his preference in this year’s ballot.
“President Bush is retired from politics”, McGrath wrote in an email then. John McCain of Arizona and Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire.
Neither Bush nor his sons – including ex-president George W. Bush (2001-2009) and Jeb Bush, a former Florida governor and ex-2016 presidential hopeful – went to Trump’s nomination at the Republican National Convention in August. The fact that Mr Bush Snr has now, apparently, stated that he will vote for Mrs Clinton, raises questions over whether both his sons – the former president and this year’s defeated Republican presidential candidate, Jeb Bush – will follow suit.

Also in attendance was Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend, daughter of Robert F. Kennedy and former lieutenant governor of Maryland.
