A spokesman for the elder Bush tells Politico that the former president’s vote will be private.
Bush, 92, had meant to stay silent on the White House race, but Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend revealed his alleged voting plans. Townsend told Politico she met with the former president in ME on Monday, where he told her about his preference in this year’s ballot. The snub of Republican candidate Donald Trump emerged after Kathleen Hartington Kennedy Townsend, the daughter of the late Robert F Kennedy, posted a picture on Facebook showing her shaking hands with Bush Sr. “He is not commenting on the presidential race in the interim”. “That’s what he said”, she told Politico.
Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush was one of the 16 Republican presidential candidates during the primaries, but his bid for the White House ended in February when he suspended his campaign. The spokesman also stressed that Bush is a private citizen and that his vote is private matter.
However, she has not said who will get her vote on Election Day.
Bush has stayed silent on the race and did not attend the GOP convention in July.
