George Lucas says sorry for Star Wars white slave jibe
According to Fortune, between twelve and thirteen copies of Star Wars Battlefront have been sold since its launch mid-November 2015, and that $660 million has helped Disney’s Star Wars video game revenue to more than $1 billion for the year, an impressive achievement with only two full console releases on the mark, both of released in the latter of the year.

The Force Awakens has now earned more than $629 million domestically since its December 18 premiere, moving it past 2012’s superhero team-up blockbuster The Avengers to become the fourth highest-grossing film of all time in the U.S. The new ranking also makes it the most successful film of all time for Disney. “I loved them, I created them, I’m very intimately involved in them”, said the 71-year-old.

Only time will tell if the future installments in this movie franchise will be the ones that will be breaking its own records. “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is still yet to tap into the second largest movie market in the world as the movie does not hit Chinese theaters until January 9. “And so I said, ‘Okay, I will go my way, and I’ll let them go their way”.
Also in the interview, he appeared to question Disney’s choice of direction for Episode VII. “Every movie, I worked very hard to make them different, with different planets and different spaceships…”

But in his statement on Thursday, Lucas spoke glowingly of the company that acquired his franchise, as well as its CEO, Bob Iger.
