George W. Bush Appears in Ad for Jeb

“But Jeb is the nicest, wisest, most caring, loyal, disciplined”, she said, adding, “Not by me!” when the audience laughed.

Bush regularly gets big applause when he mentions his famous parents on the campaign trail, and it’s not uncommon for voters to ask Bush to sign books about them or photos of the former first couple.

Bush made the comments at his campaign event in Derry, New Hampshire on Thursday while talking about how many times people have wonderful things to say about Barbara.

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush has struggled with that dynamic his entire campaign – sometimes embracing the Bush legacy, and sometimes holding it at arm’s length.

“But he’s not a bragger – we don’t allow that – but he’s decent and honest”, she said.

Bush got a paltry 2.8 percent in the Iowa caucuses on Monday while Rubio finished a strong third with 23.1 percent and is touting “Marcomentum” coming into New Hampshire. “And I’m here to see whether I can determine whether he’d be a good executive”, said Roberta Hitchcock, Hanover resident. “Who is Jeb Bush’s father?” and “Is Jeb Bush George Bush’s brother?”

“Mom, my crowd sizes normally aren’t this large”, Bush quipped when he took the stage. “And, you know, it’s probably just a name – I’m not going to support the Bushes – I don’t think I’m going support the Bushes anymore”.

It looks like the ad won’t be the only role the former president plans to play in backing his brother’s candidacy.

He pushed back on characterizations of him as part of the Republican “establishment”.

Kasich became the first of the gubernatorial crew to leave Iowa after a debate there last week when he returned to the trail in New Hampshire Saturday.

“I’ve lived a very different life than my brother”, he continued. “But like all families, we’re a little different, each one of us”.
